Position Overview
Were looking for enthusiastic and compassionate Group Leaders to join our After-School & Summer Camp Youth Development Programs! In this role youll mentor supervise and inspire elementary and middle school students in a fun engaging and supportive environment.
As a positive role model youll lead interactive and educational activities that promote creativity teamwork and personal growth. Multiple positions are available across Queens NY!
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Activity Facilitation
Supervise and engage students in dynamic daily activities.
Develop and implementcreative age-appropriate lesson plans.
Provide academic support homework help and skill-building activities.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with theEducational Specialist Program Director and Assistant Directors.
Maintainstrong communication with students staff families and school partners.
Assist in coordinating special events field trips and thematic projects.
Student Engagement & Safety
Foster anurturing inclusive environment that encourages respect and teamwork.
Ensure thesafety and security of all students.
Serve as a mentor and role model leading by example.
Professional Development & Compliance
Attendweekly staff meetings and complete required training.
Follow allprogram policies safety protocols and compliance guidelines.
Take on additional tasks to support overall program success.
Qualifications
Age: Must beat least 18 years old.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework in Education Sociology Social Work or a related field is aplus!
Experience: 1 year of experience leadingyouth activities in after-school summer camp or similar settings.
Skills:
Stronggroup management facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
Ability toremain calm and solution-oriented in challenging situations.
Experience working withelementary or middle school-aged youth preferred.
Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and strongverbal & written communication skills.
Clearances: Must pass NYS DOH & DOE Fingerprinting NYS Clearance Review three reference checks and a physical exam (including a TB test).
