Job Summary
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Associates degree from an accredited mortuary school
Valid Embalmer License and/or the ability to obtain license in the State of North Carolina
Experience and Training
Minimumtwoyears experience in embalming
Knowledge Skills Ability:
Knowledge of North Carolina and Federal laws governing willed body/anatomical gift programs crematoriesand embalming.
Knowledge of various embalming techniques.
Knowledge of OSHA laboratory health and safety regulations and compliance.
Strong organizational and reporting skills.
Experiencemaintainingthe privacy of information and the confidentiality of records.
Familiarity with and/or coursework relevant to human anatomy dissection isadvantageous.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepare andmaintainanatomical specimens (donors) through embalming techniques for dissection and clinical training.
Maintain a system that allows for 100% accuracyregardingthe receipt issuancelocationand final disposition of donors and donor specimens.
Assist the Director of the Willed Body Program with annual memorial service and arrange educational laboratory tours and outreach.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Will report to the Dean of the Congdon School of Health Sciences and the Director of the Willed Body Program.
