Work Performed:
Sets up and operates internal centerless surface external thread and universal grinders for production experimental and tool work. Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types of grinders. Grinds steps tapers recesses shoulders angles contours and threads. Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds feeds and wheels. Holds work for required tolerances. Setups are exacting usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures rests or blocks. Will not be retained in this position longer than two (2) years.
Tools & Equipment Used:
All types of grinders machinists hand tools precision measuring instruments.
Experience & Other Requirements:
Two (2) years of production grinding experience or the equivalent technical education.
