The salary isdeterminedin accordance withthe Universitys compensation structure and will becommensuratewith the candidates education and experience within the assigned salary range for this position.
The Graduate Assistant will provide academic and administrative support to assist with maintaining accurate academic information supporting the Office of the Provost.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor/review documents on HB 2504 webpage
- Review academic webpages for catalog information accuracy
- Assist with textbook order follow-up
- Assist with policy review and OER projects.
- Assist with answering and directing telephone calls filing and performing other clerical support tasks as delegated
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in an relevant field.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Prairie View A&M University. (Minimum of 9 credit hours during the regular fall and spring semesters and 6 semester credit hours for the summer semester).
- Must be in good academic standing.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Degree-seeking student in a graduate program at PVAMU (e.g. Sociology; Management; Education Leadership; Counseling; Psychology Human Sciences Communications; etc.)
- Must be enrolled in 9 graduate credits each semester of assistantship
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal; organizational and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner
- Demonstrated ability to work independently manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in all tasks
- Familiarity with academic integrity principles compliance standards and higher education governance structures a plus;
- Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Professional
- Able to work 25 hours per week
