The Graduate Assistant position with the Rosalynn Carter Mental Health and Caregiver Program supports programmatic research evaluation policy and communication activities across the programs Global Mental Health and Public Policy pillars. The role is designed for a student interested in mental health caregiving behavioral health systems public policy program evaluation and applied research. The Graduate Assistant will contribute to projects that strengthen behavioral health systems advance evidence-based policy support stakeholder engagement and produce written materials that inform internal planning external communications and policy strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with project coordination communication and documentation including meeting minutes interim reports grant writing presentation development literature reviews and other project-relevant materials.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation
  frameworks and evaluation of program activities.
• Support descriptive and inferential statistical analysis using project or program data.
• Advance various other specific projects assigned as opportunities arise based on programmatic needs and the applicants interests.
• Coordination preparation and execution of in-person and virtual events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a college or university offering a four-year degree.
• Completion of freshman year or higher and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled as a graduate or doctoral student
• Completion of at least two semesters of relevant coursework or fieldwork in areas such as public policy public health behavioral health epidemiology program evaluation data analysis or communications
• Strong research analytical writing and communication skills
• Ability to translate complex research or policy topics into clear accessible language
• Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods is a plus
• Ability to work independently manage multiple tasks and contribute collaboratively across teams
• Demonstrated interest in mental health behavioral health policy health systems health equity caregiving or related public policy areas
• Ability to commit approximately 1020 hours per week for 912 months depending on the assignment
• Coursework in public policy public health law political science or related fields.
• Experience working on mental health social determinants of health or caregiving issues.
• Interest in implementation science or evaluation methodologies.
• Experience producing policy briefs memos or issue analyses.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines. All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia.
