In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Sustainable Productand PackagingDesign
- Lead the development and drive the adoption of sustainable productand packagingdesign strategies throughout thecompanyand support product development teams in implementingactionsto reduce emissions andimproveproduct circularity.
- Work with the product environmental compliance team to integrate regulatory considerations into Emersons sustainable productand packagingdesign strategyand guidelines.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute improvement projects that can serve as best practice examples.
- Continue to enhance Emersons sustainable new productand packagingdesign guidelines.
- Identifyand prioritize cross-business strategic design initiatives that can deliver material sustainability impact at scale across multiple product lines.
- Keep abreast of external sustainableproduct and packagingdesign trends and activelyparticipateinexternalexpert industry forums.
- ProductCarbon Footprint Program and Reporting
- Oversee the activities of the centralteamconducting product carbon footprint analyses.
- Provide technicalexpertiseto business-unit teams and collaborate with themin research and specific projectsduring a projects execution.
- Help lead and expand Emersons global product carbon footprint programby:
- Continuingto improve internal methodologies and external communication collateral in alignment with external best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Streamlining processes to reduce project timelines whilemaintaininghigh-quality outputs.
- Working with the IT team to develop a longer-term data architecture plan to scale the product carbon footprint program globally.
- Supporting vendor selection for Emersons longer-term product carbon footprint program.
- Drivingthe adoption of product carbon footprint analyses across Emersons major product lines globally.
- Building relationships with external experts and partners.
- Collaborate with Scope 3 team to improve data quality and forecasting using PCF insights.
- Train and support sales and marketing teams to ensure effective communication of results to external.
- Data Strategy and Governance
- Assess and benchmark the data maturity of business units to evaluate readiness for PCF calculationsidentifygaps in data availability quality and systems and define actionable roadmaps to improve data readiness and enable scalable deployment.
- Act as the primary liaison to the enterprise product data program ensuring alignment between product sustainability needs and broader data strategy.
- Translate PCF requirements into clear data specifications and ensure integration into Emersons product data architecture in collaboration with IT and PEC.
- Monitor and assess Product Category Rules (PCRs) and relevant external standards todetermineapplicability across Emersons portfolio and ensure methodological consistency.
- Supply Chain Support
- Collaborate withtheResponsible Sourcing team to improve primary data collection practices from suppliers to improve the precision and granularity of Scope 3 upstream emissions.
- Assistin developing decarbonization scenario analyses and creating roadmaps for keydirectmaterial commodities(e.g. castings steel aluminum plastics electronics).
- Engage with supply chain teams to promote the adoption of sustainable procurement and transportation strategies early in the productand packagingdevelopment stages.

For This Role You Will Need:
- Education in engineering environmental science physics mathematicsmaterialsscienceorasimilarsubject
- 5-7yearsof work experience in product designorproduct management
- Experience in a leadership or managerial role
- ExperiencewithLife Cycle Assessment/ Product Carbon Footprintmethodologies and tools
- Proventrack recordin the design anddevelopment ofnew products
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex sustainability topics in a clear and engaging manner
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary within the local market in which we operate and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The starting salary for this role is $140000-$180000annually commensurate with the skills talent capabilities and experience each candidate brings to a role.
