Title: GIS Business Analyst
Location: Houston TX (Hybrid 2-3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 months
Payrate: $70-$70/hr C2C


Job Summary:


The GIS Business Analyst works with business and technical teams to analyze design and improve GIS (Geographic Information Systems) solutions. The role focuses on gathering business requirements supporting GIS applications improving business processes and ensuring GIS data supports operational and strategic decisions. Industry references highlight responsibilities around spatial analysis stakeholder collaboration data quality and business process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
Gather and document business and functional requirements.
Work with stakeholders to understand GIS-related business processes.
Translate business requirements into GIS system solutions.
Conduct workshops meetings and requirement-gathering sessions.
Support GIS application enhancements testing and implementation.
Analyze spatial and non-spatial data to identify trends and insights.
Coordinate with GIS developers architects and business users.
Prepare process flows use cases and business requirement documents (BRDs).
Support data quality data migration and system integration activities.
Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) and change management.

Required Skills:
Strong understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data.
Experience with ESRI ArcGIS ArcGIS Enterprise or similar GIS platforms.
Knowledge of utility asset management or geospatial systems.
Business analysis methodologies and documentation.
SQL and data analysis skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Agile or Waterfall delivery methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in GIS Geography Engineering Computer Science or related field.
5 years of business analysis experience.
GIS/ESRI certification is a plus.
Experience in Utilities Energy Telecom or Public Sector projects.
