General Surgery Physician Assistant

Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partners is adding a PRN surgical physician assistant to our team in Murfreesboro TN.

• Working 8-9 hour Saturday and Sunday (on occasion helping fill in for vacations during the week)
• Working with General Surgeon on call with hospital patients
• Manages assigned patients;performs new consults; Assessments during rounding
• Prepare and execute discharge orders and notes
• Collaboration with other services and frequent interaction with hospitalist

• The hospital campus is currently undergoing a $110M expansion project which includes the addition of 36 new high acuity beds a parking garage dedicated to hospital employees and physicians 18 new critical care unit beds six additional NICU bassinets 17 new post-surgery bays

• Saint Thomas Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) have an established partnership in Middle Tennessee for training medical residents in a variety of specialties including internal medicine family medicine obstetrics and gynecology and general surgery

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Masters degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.
