Were looking for an experienced General Manager / General Contractor to lead our New London operation and help scale the business.
This is not a desk-only General Manager position.
The GM/GC will own the day-to-day operation while remaining actively involved in the field. Youll evaluate and estimate projects oversee craftsmen and subcontractors manage schedules and job profitability ensure quality standards are met and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers.
We need someone who understands residential construction firsthand and also has the leadership and business acumen to run a growing home services operation.
- Oversee residential repair maintenance and remodeling projects from initial scope through completion.
- Conduct on-site consultations evaluate project requirements and prepare accurate estimates.
- Scope labor materials subcontractor needs timelines and project costs.
- Manage project schedules material procurement and labor allocation.
- Lead and oversee internal craftsmen and specialized subcontractors.
- Perform job-site quality checks and final walkthroughs.
- Identify project issues early and take ownership of resolving them.
- Ensure projects and field operations comply with applicable Connecticut building codes permitting requirements safety regulations and licensing requirements.
- Manage the day-to-day performance of the New London operation.
- Monitor gross margins job costing labor ratios and project profitability.
- Maintain organized project calendars schedules material orders and customer updates.
- Use CRM estimating scheduling and dispatch software to manage workflow.
- Recruit onboard and manage craftsmen and subcontractor relationships.
- Maintain accountability for operational performance and customer satisfaction.
- Work directly with ownership to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement.
- Meet with homeowners to understand project needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Develop and present clear professional project estimates.
- Follow up on estimates and opportunities to help convert qualified projects.
- Identify additional opportunities where Montys can provide value to existing customers.
- Generate new business through relationships referrals and community involvement.
- Serve as a professional and knowledgeable point of contact for homeowners.
- Communicate proactively regarding schedules project progress changes and unexpected findings.
- Walk active projects with customers and ensure expectations remain aligned.
- Complete final quality walkthroughs before project closeout.
- Maintain Montys standards for punctuality professionalism cleanliness and customer care.
Hands-on residential construction or remodeling experience is required.
Were looking for someone who understands how projects actually come together in the field and can confidently evaluate scope labor materials quality and potential problems.
You should also be a strong leader financially minded highly organized comfortable estimating residential projects and capable of managing multiple active jobs employees subcontractors and customer relationships.
- 3 years of experience in residential construction remodeling or a related skilled-trades environment.
- Demonstrated experience with project management and estimating.
- Previous leadership experience managing employees subcontractors or field teams.
- Strong understanding of residential construction methods materials project sequencing and quality standards.
- Working knowledge of gross margins job costing labor costs and project profitability.
- Strong customer communication and relationship-management skills.
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Ability to work on-site and throughout the New London service area.
- Applicable Connecticut contractor registration licensing or credentials required for the position and project scope or ability to meet applicable requirements.
Base Salary: $65000$68000 per year depending on experience.
Monthly General Sales Commission:
- $0$45000 gross revenue: 2%
- $45000$85000 gross revenue: 4%
- Over $85000 gross revenue: 6%
Self-Generated GC Leads:
Earn 8%10% gross commission on qualifying self-generated GC sales excluded from standard tier calculations.
