Garden Shop Assistant Seasonal Hourly Estimated pay range $17-$17.50 depending on qualifications and experienceMust be at least 18 years and olderPosition Description:The Garden Shop Assistant will have a passion for plants and gardening excellent customer service skills and a strong work day-to-day:Greet customers and assist them with their inquiries and purchasesProvide advice on plants gardening tools and landscaping materialsMaintain a clean and organized environmentUnpack and stock merchandise on shelves and displaysWilling to learn the seasonality of Garden Shop products including Spring Fall and Christmas displays are full and merchandised with appropriate signageProvides quality customer service including interacting with customers answering customer inquiries and effectively handling customer complaintsOther projects as neededQualifications: Knowledge of plants is a plus but not requiredSafely operate a forklift and all other equipment used in the day-to-day operation of the garden shopDemonstrate safe usage of box cutters skid sheers and other hand toolsDemonstrate a vast knowledge of plants & garden equipmentGreat customer service skillsGood communication skills both written and oralGood organizational skillsThe ability to multi-taskWhat you bring to the team:Lead by exampleExcellent work ethicExcellent interpersonal skillHonestThe ability to problem-solveFlexibleWorking Conditions:The garden shop is a seasonal outdoor department and exposure to weather is possible such as extreme heat or cold rain or snow position requires frequent walking standing and lifting with a maximum of 100lbs and occasional climbing pulling pushing and reachingSatisfy:Greet customers with a friendly smile and positive attitude ensuring that each customer feels welcome and :Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store offering assistance and support where :Improve and maintain the efficiency of the store in order to reach success.
