Job Summary

Varmoda is seeking an Application Developer to support the configuration enhancement development and ongoing administration of a mission-critical Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) application platform supporting multiple integrated modules and business functions. This role will work across requirements gathering application configuration development testing deployment debugging and production support activities.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong developer with experience in object-oriented programming SQL databases application configuration and software development best practices. Candidates should be eager to learn adaptable and capable of working in both Agile and traditional development environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support configuration and administration of a multi-module Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) application platform.
  • Gather analyze and document business and technical requirements.
  • Configure application settings reference tables business rules and user access permissions.
  • Develop and implement application enhancements and change requests.
  • Perform scripting software debugging troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Support source control management and deployment activities.
  • Conduct application testing validation and quality assurance activities.
  • Develop implementation specifications and technical documentation.
  • Provide production application support and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders technical teams and project personnel to deliver system enhancements.
  • Ensure software solutions follow development standards coding best practices and established methodologies.
  • Participate in system upgrades integrations and release activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required (Computer Science Computer Information Systems Management Information Systems Mathematics or related discipline preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with SQL databases.
  • Minimum 2 years of object-oriented software development experience utilizing:
    • C#
    • .NET
    • Java
    • Similar OO programming languages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • Outlook
    • PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and SDLC concepts.
  • Understanding of coding standards development best practices and application support processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and business processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with web services development and integrations.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and API integrations.
  • Experience working with AWS cloud services.
  • Experience developing and optimizing SQL Stored Procedures.
  • Experience supporting enterprise COTS software solutions.
  • Exposure to Agile development environments.
  • Experience with software configuration and customization activities.
  • Familiarity with source control and application deployment processes.

Certifications & Clearance

Required Compliance

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required.
  • Local Georgia candidates only.
  • Tax Clearance Letter required at the time of submission.
  • Candidate must successfully pass:

    • Fingerprinting Process
    • Georgia Tax Compliance Verification
