The Custom Cloud Solutions (CCS) Hardware Validation Group is responsible for ensuring the quality reliability and performance of next-generation data center ASIC and SoC products spanning cloud infrastructure AI accelerators network processors NICs custom ASICs SSD controllers CXL devices and domain-specific accelerators. Our team owns end-to-end hardware validation working across the full product lifecycle from early silicon bring-up through system-level qualification. As an intern you will work alongside experienced engineers in a fully instrumented hardware lab gaining hands-on exposure to cutting-edge silicon validation across high-speed interfaces and complex platform environments. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to real engineering challenges that directly impact the future of data infrastructure.

What You Can Expect

  • Assist in functional hardware validation and debug activities for platforms utilizing high-speed interfaces such as PCIe CXL and Ethernet

  • Support system bring-up tasks by running test cases collecting data and documenting results under the guidance of senior engineers

  • Write and execute automation scripts (Python or similar) to streamline silicon testing and validation workflows

  • Operate standard lab equipment including logic analyzers and oscilloscopes to assist with signal integrity analysis and system debugging

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design firmware and validation) to investigate and reproduce hardware or protocol-level issues and contribute to root-cause analysis

What Were Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or a related field with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 Summer 2028

  • Basic understanding of digital logic computer architecture or hardware design principles gained through coursework or personal projects

  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language (Python C or similar) for writing test scripts or automating tasks

  • Ability to work in a hands-on lab environment and a willingness to learn how to use standard lab equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes logic analyzers)

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset with the ability to document findings clearly and work effectively within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework or project experience related to high-speed interfaces (PCIe Ethernet USB or similar protocols)

  • Exposure to hardware bring-up FPGA/ASIC design or embedded systems through academic projects or internships

  • Experience with version control tools (e.g. Git) and basic familiarity with Linux/Unix environments

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

28 - 56 $ per hour.

The successful candidates starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
