Job Summary

This position offers a competitive wage of $23.58$29.88/hour and provides the opportunity to work with children adolescents and adults across residential crisis and outpatient settings. Compensation: $23.58$29.88 DOE and Education

What Youll Do as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
- Conduct therapeutic recreation assessments and identify client strengths needs and treatment goals.
- Develop and implement individualized recreation therapy treatment plans.
- Facilitate engaging therapeutic recreation activities in both group and individual settings.
- Document services client progress and interventions accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Evaluate client progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with therapists case managers medical providers and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide therapeutic recreation services across residential crisis and outpatient settings.
- Promote a safe inclusive and therapeutic environment while following ethical and professional standards.
- Supervise TRTs interns or other TRSs as assigned.
- Travel to agency clinics and treatment facilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation Recreation Therapy or an approved related field; a graduate degree is also acceptable.
- Completion of an approved practicum.
- Current Utah Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TRS) license.
- Knowledge of recreational therapy principles and the APIE(D) process.
- Understanding of behavioral health conditions and adaptive therapeutic interventions.
- Strong assessment treatment planning and group facilitation skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation.
- Strong communication collaboration and crisis response skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children adolescents and adults in a variety of treatment settings.
- Valid drivers license.
- Ability to participate in recreational activities and perform physical tasks such as walking standing and lifting.
