Full-Time Equipment Operator ILaborer

The Town of Pelham is seeking applications for an Equipment Operator I/Laborer. This is a full- time benefit-eligible position and is part of our Support Staff (AFSCME) union. Applications are requested by October 5 2026 but will be accepted until position is filled. Position is available immediately and selected candidate may start upon completion of the hiring process.

Qualified applicants must:

• Hold valid CDL-B license (with airbrakes).
• Live within a 20-mile radius of Pelham NH.
• Be available 24 hours per day during winter months.

Additional skills and information:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with snow plowing and use of backhoe chainsaw and brush cutter is strongly desired. Preference will be given to those with snow plowing experience.

Hours Wage and Benefits:

• Hours of work:
  • Weekdays 7:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
  • Overtime hours requiredfor emergency road maintenance and plowing/sanding of roads during winter months
• Support Staff Union position
• Step 1 starting wage: $26.79/hour (with union increase on April 1 2027)
