We are seeking aFull-Stack Software Developerreporting into the Software Release & Deployment function. The Software Release & Deployment functioncomprises ofhighly-collaborative well-aligned teams of software engineers dedicated to delivering world class Vehicle Software Update systems. TheFull-Stack Software Developerhas specific responsibility for driving the development of Fords global release & update capability across millions of vehicles. This includes delivering Over The Air (OTA) software updates to our customers at scale. We are customer obsessed and want to understand and exceed customer expectations. Youll take pride in writing clean quality code but can balance this with business practicality

The ideal candidate for this role must be able to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and drive consistency of purpose for a complex organization. Prior experience in driving cross functional teams in multifaceted technical and regulatory constrained environments is essential. The candidate will have demonstrated strong collaboration in delivering technical initiatives quickly turning concepts into functioning code. Prior experience in cloud software engineering or embedded systems in associated industries is an advantage.



Responsibilities

What youll do...

  • Develop world-class low latency high availability services that support internal engineering as well as millions of Ford customers; delivering technical initiatives quickly turning concepts into functioning code.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to deliver functioning code against the technical vision technical strategy
  • Deliver functional capabilities that are aligned to timelines and roadmaps.
  • Own code quality (code reviews testingcollaborate on solutions application design) with focus on analyzing customer needs
  • Attend standup meetings leverage project management practices processes and tools to help drive projects to a successful completion.
  • Adapt in a rapidly changing environment and drive consistency of purpose for a complex organization.
  • Apply previous experience in driving cross functional teams in multifaceted technical and regulatory constrained environments is essential.


Qualifications

Youll have...

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or a combination of equivalent experience and education

  • 3 years experience as Full Stack Engineer leveraging object oriented language(s) Java/ Spring Framework C or equivalent

  • 3 years developing REST/Queue based interfaces

  • 3 years developing APIs using back-end technologies such as Go Python

  • 3 working with relational and/or NoSQL databases database design and SQL Queries

  • 3 years working with cloud platforms like GCP Azure or AWS

  • 3 years implementing front-end user interfaces using frameworks such as React or Angular

Even better if you have...

  • Masters degree in associated field

  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies. Docker Kubernetes

  • Deep understanding of distributed microservice architectures

  • Experience with various deployment pipelines. GitHub Actions Jenkins

  • Knowledge of trunk-based development practices

  • Experience with the Open Application Model and Infra-As-Code

  • Understanding of security best practices in web development

  • SaaS development experience

  • Demonstrated time in role working in a multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency

  • Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve the desired results.

  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated examples of applying systemic thinking logic and reasoning skills to be able to identify opportunities alternative solutions or approaches to problems.

  • Organizational skill: Strong collaboration skills clear and concise direction coupled with an ability to move within the organization to complete work and balance tradeoffs.

This position is a salary grade 6 to 8 and ranges from $85400-$192900.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidates skills and experience and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope responsibility and competitive market value.
