Full Stack Software Engineer Codex for Finance

OpenAI for Financial Services is part of OpenAIs Verticals organization which focuses on accelerating the economy and knowledge work. We build AI products for financial institutions and the professionals who power them from investment bankers and research analysts to investors and other financial services teams.

We combine OpenAIs models financial data and enterprise knowledge to help professionals research companies analyze markets and produce high-quality work in the tools they use every day.

Were a small entrepreneurial team working closely with customers and partners across research product design engineering and go-to-market to bring new capabilities from idea to production.

Were looking for full-stack engineers to build new AI-native products on top of ChatGPT Work and Codex. This is zero-to-one work: youll help define how financial professionals research analyze and make decisions alongside AI.

Youll own the experience across the stack work directly with customers to understand their workflows and collaborate across OpenAI to turn new model capabilities into products that professionals can trust.

Your work will shape how some of the worlds largest financial institutions adopt AI and how financial knowledge work gets done.

• Build a new financial services app within ChatGPT Work and Codex creating intuitive AI-native experiences for company research financial analysis document review and professional work products.

• Develop new product experiences around enterprise memory that learn from an organizations knowledge workflows and context and adapt to how its teams work.

• Develop the APIs services and integrations required to connect user experiences with financial data providers enterprise systems and OpenAIs models.

• Work closely with product and design to turn ambiguous customer problems into polished useful and reliable products.

• Work directly with financial institutions to understand customer needs unblock deployments and turn feedback into meaningful product improvements.

• Partner with research security infrastructure and other engineering teams to take new capabilities from early prototype to scaled production.

• 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record of building and shipping production software across the stack.

• Expertise in TypeScript React and modern web technologies along with strong experience building backend services in languages such as Python Go Rust or TypeScript.

• Experience designing and building complex product interfaces APIs and integrations that work together as a cohesive user experience.

• Strong product instincts and the ability to move from an ambiguous customer problem to a practical well-engineered solution.

• Comfort working across the stack and organizational boundaries when that is what it takes to ship a great product.

• A high bar for usability reliability security and performance particularly in enterprise or other high-trust environments.

• Interest in AI and how model capabilities can be applied to complex professional work; direct AI/ML or financial services experience is helpful but not required.

• Experience as a founder an early engineer at a startup or an engineer who has helped build a new product from scratch is a plus.
