Position Overview:

As a School-Based Speech Language Pathologist you will play a vital role in helping students overcome communication challenges improve their speech and language skills and achieve their educational goals. Your expertise will be essential in promoting students overall success and well-being in the school environment.

Required:
SLP SC State licensure
SC Board of Education Licensure
ASHA Certification

Additional Details:
Caseload of 45 Students k-5 elementary aged students
Requires an educators certification and SC SLP Licensure

Responsibilities

• The Speech Language Pathologist will conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based speech and language pathology interventions and strategies to improve students communication articulation fluency and language skills.
• Collaborate closely with educators parents and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students participation in the classroom and social activities.
• Monitor and document students progress adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Offer guidance and education to parents teachers and support staff on strategies to enhance students communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records including session notes progress reports and billing documentation.
• Stay current with the latest research best practices and techniques in speech-language pathology.
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings team meetings and school-based professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal state and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• SC State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Educator Certificate (if applicable)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) unless a CF.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in private practice or outpatient settings preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance billing and documentation practices is a plus.
• Dedication to providing culturally competent and client-centered care.
