Responsibilities:

• Complete preventive maintenance on tractors and trailers as required by state federal and internal procedures
• Diagnose and repair the following tractor components: air system electrical system steering brakes air conditioning
• Diagnose and repair the following trailer components: air system electrical system brakes undercarriage suspension and trailer structure
• Diagnose and repair reefer unit including refrigeration
• Change or repair tires or coordinate with vendor
• Keep work area neat and clean
• Abide by all company policies and governmental regulations
• Responsible for DOT/OSHA/EPA record keeping as pertaining to the shop and equipment as necessary
• Coordinate road breakdowns with company equipment while on duty
• Responsible for snow removal of yard and scraping of trailers during weather events

Preferred Requirements:

• Team members are responsible for understanding company policy and procedures as promulgated in the policy and procedure manual and the team member handbook

• High school diploma or GED; technical school preferred
• At least 3 years of experience as a qualified diesel or heavy equipment mechanic
• Class A CDL
• EPA 608 Refrigeration Certification
• PA State Inspection License
