Job Summary

Frontend React/TypeScript Developer

Overview
Client is building a shared UI Framework that serves as the component theming state management and API-access layer for a next-generation Building Automation System interface deployed across both edge/on-premises and cloud environments.
This fixed-term contract engagement is focused on delivering a defined set of committed deliverables within a six-month timeframe. The selected consultant will work as part of an established Agile scrum team alongside permanent engineers to build reusable framework components implement application features and support high-quality front-end delivery.

Core Responsibilities
Build extend and harden reusable React and TypeScript components within the shared design system including theming design tokens component states keyboard interactions and accessibility behavior.
Implement assigned UI screens and workflows based on approved UX designs and REST or streaming APIs including data fetching caching and handling error offline and degraded connectivity states.
Ensure consistent functionality across edge/on-premises and cloud-hosted deployments supported browsers and screen sizes.
Create and maintain unit and component tests using Jest/Vitest and React Testing Library and contribute automated end-to-end test coverage for delivered functionality.
Diagnose and resolve front-end performance issues related to bundle size rendering efficiency large data sets and memory retention in long-running sessions.
Take assigned defects from triage through verified resolution including documentation of root-cause analysis.
Produce component documentation usage examples and technical decision notes to support long-term ownership by the permanent team.
Participate fully in Agile scrum ceremonies including backlog refinement estimation daily standups sprint reviews demos and retrospectives.

Essential Qualifications Skills and Technologies
4 years of experience building production web front ends with a bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Deep expertise in TypeScript and React including hooks component composition state management rendering behavior and modern HTML and CSS for responsive layouts and theming.
Demonstrated experience building or extending a reusable component library or design system consumed by multiple applications.
Strong debugging and performance analysis skills using browser developer tools to profile rendering performance analyze network behavior and isolate memory growth issues.
Clear understanding of the separation between application code UI frameworks and REST APIs with the ability to maintain clean architectural boundaries.
Experience working within CI/CD environments using small pull requests automated testing short-lived or trunk-based branching strategies and routine code review practices.
Ability to work across both Windows and Linux development environments.
Strong Agile delivery discipline including reliable estimation visibility into progress and proactive communication of blockers.

Preferred Skills or Experience
Experience implementing accessibility solutions aligned to WCAG 2.1 AA standards including ARIA patterns and keyboard-only operation.
Familiarity with /C# development sufficient to troubleshoot issues across API boundaries.
Angular development experience.
Experience building real-time or high-frequency data user interfaces using technologies such as WebSocket or SSE including virtualized tables and time-series charting.
Experience developing testing and publishing Chrome and Microsoft Edge browser extensions.
Experience within building automation industrial control systems IoT SCADA or other operational technology environments.

Work Details
Fixed-term contract engagement of six months.
Work is performed using Client repositories issue tracking systems and approved equipment and network access methods.
Development environment is expected to be operational with a first reviewed pull request merged during the first sprint.
Contributors are expected to begin supporting team sprint commitments starting in the second sprint.
Definition of done includes code review and merge completion passing automated tests in CI accessibility and browser-support validation documentation updates and demonstration of completed work.
All work product and intellectual property created during the engagement is assigned to Client subject to signed confidentiality and intellectual property agreements.
The engagement is for the named individual only. Subcontracting substitution or delegation of work requires written approval.
Successful completion of applicable background check and customer security requirements may be required.
No concurrent employment or engagement that creates a conflict of interest with contracted working hours.
This engagement does not include employee benefits equity bonus eligibility paid time off or any expectation of continued engagement beyond the stated term.
