Job Summary
- Position Summary
- One temporary hourly-intermittent student assistant position available in the Learning Commons.
Serves as a Learning Commons student assistant for the front desk - the connection communication and clerical hub of services and operations. Front desk student assistants welcome and connect students to services complete clerical tasks and share how the Learning Commons contributes to student success through a variety of communication tools and marketing events. Applicants must have a work study award as part of their financial aid. This position will have a special focus on outreach supporting front desk operations and special projects.
- Start Date
- One position available on or after September 14 2026 and ending on or before May 21 2027. Possibility of reappointment based on budget department needs and job performance.
- Job Description/Duties
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Greets guests and route to the appropriate department/staff.
- Assist with filing and tracking using paper and electronic systems
- Assist with running errands to other buildings/departments.
- Assist with data entry.
- Assist with answering phones emails and routing inquires to the appropriate staff in a professional manner.
- Assists with referring students to other campus and community resources.
- Assist with logistics for meetings outreach and events.
- Assists with development of marketing materials and social media connections.
- Communicates and works with teams to complete projects.
- Assist students in scheduling appointments and responding to inquires using our learning center management platform StanTutor.
- Monitor and assist with student staff faculty and guest questions.
- Participates in marketing and outreach events.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:- Must have a work study award as part of their financial aid.
- Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.
- Post-baccalaureate students in a graduate program must be registered in a minimum of four (4) Fall/Spring units.
- Salary Range
- $16.90 per hour.
