French Translator UniFirst

The French Translator provides internal written language translation services to all functions and departments to maintain legislation compliance and meet Quebec language requirements for the global organization. This position is responsible for providing all French translations of written documents for both internal and external company usage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Translate all external and internal communications from English to French.

• Translate all technical documents marketing tools and reports from English to French.

• Prioritize translation requests from Quebec locations and Human Resources.

• Proofread technical documents or reports in French.

• Manage and prioritize translation requests based on priority and deadlines.

• Maintain record of translations projects requested by various departments in the organization.

• Write technical texts communications and presentations.

• Maintain and build Translation Memory (Trados).

• Ensure consistency of layouts for marketing translations.

• Clerical tasks as necessary.

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $70000 - $75000 yearly. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to the candidates skills experience and qualifications. Geographic differentials may also apply depending on the positions location. There is no application deadline for this role; recruitment will remain open until the position is filled.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in French/French translation or related field or equivalent experience

Key Competencies and Skills:

Must be fluent in English and French
5-10 years of experience within French Translation
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills task management and attention to detail
Digital literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite Adobe Acrobat Pro Trados
Good teamwork & team leader skills
