Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Emergency Services Nurse at our San Tan Valley Satellite Emergency Department you will take a leadership role in assessing patient/family health problems and resources and developing implementing and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. Thisposition provides professional nursing care and interventions to acutely ill adult patient populations across all ages from young adults to geriatrics within a fast-paced high-stress environment.

Every day you willtriage patients assess their condition and administer medications and treatments collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians technicians and support staff to ensure timely and critical interventions. You will meticulously monitor patient progress educate patients and families on health management and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital protocols. Serving as a patient advocate you will quickly adapt to changes in patient conditions (e.g. lab results vitals) utilize the SBAR format for physician notification and perform nurse-to-nurse reports all while balancing patient needs with comfort.

To be successful in this role you need strong critical thinking skills excellent communication abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure while delivering high-quality care. Basic computer skills the ability to recognize your scope of practice seek multidisciplinary collaboration and assume accountability for decisions are essential for this dynamic role which involves heavy physical demands.

  • Use emergency triage protocol to intake discharge or admit patients
  • Deliver stabilizing care to emergency patients of all ages as part of the larger ER team adapting care to changes in patients condition as needed
  • Use knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values beliefs and customs
  • Demonstrates the ability to recognize and adapt to changes in patients condition (i.e. Lab vitals signs and test values) in a timely and clinically appropriate manner
  • Delegate tasks based on the needs of the patient potential for harm patient stability task complexity and outcome predictability within the scope of skill set and practice

Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Nursing or Master of Nursing
  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support

Preferred

  • Two (2) years of Emergency Services experience
