Forklift Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable and experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate to support the daily movement of materials throughout our facility. This position will handle incoming shipments inspect and organize materials maintain accurate inventory information and safely move products using a forklift.
This is a hands-on position that requires strong attention to detail good communication skills and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy industrial environment. The position requires previous forklift experience.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials parts and supplies.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and shipping documents.
- Record received materials accurately in inventory systems.
- Label tag and properly store materials in designated locations.
- Operate a forklift to move stage and organize materials.
- Load and unload trucks and move materials throughout the shipping area.
- Inspect materials for damage defects or discrepancies.
- Communicate receiving issues with purchasing and other departments.
- Maintain accurate receiving inventory and shipping records.
- Assist with inventory control and other warehouse activities.
- Follow all safety rules and warehouse procedures.
- Keep the work area clean organized and free of hazards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous forklift experience is required.
- Previous shipping receiving warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in an industrial environment.
- Basic computer skills and ability to work with inventory or warehouse systems.
- Ability to read and understand orders shipping documents and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work around active shipping docks and forklifts.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend reach turn and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to work approximately 10-hour shifts with standard breaks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on forklift experience strong attention to detail and a dependable work history. This person should be comfortable working in a warehouse environment handling physical tasks and ensuring materials are received stored and moved accurately and safely.
