We are seeking an experienced Foreman Data Technician to lead structured cabling and low-voltage installation projects while working alongside field technicians in a hands-on leadership role. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in data/voice cabling systems experience leading crews in commercial environments and the ability to manage projects safely efficiently and professionally.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise crews on commercial structured cabling and low-voltage installation projects
Coordinate daily jobsite activities manpower materials and project schedules
Install terminate test and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling systems including:
Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat6A cabling
Fiber optic cabling
Voice and data systems
Security and access control systems
Audio/visual systems
Read and interpret blueprints floor plans specifications and riser diagrams
Ensure installations meet company standards customer expectations and applicable codes
Maintain production schedules and communicate progress updates to project managers and customers
Train mentor and develop technicians and apprentices
Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce company safety policies
Coordinate with other trades and contractors to maintain project timelines
Manage inventory tools equipment and material usage on-site
Perform quality control inspections and testing of installed systems
Complete required project documentation redlines and closeout paperwork
Troubleshoot installation issues and resolve field conflicts efficiently
Maintain a professional appearance and customer-focused attitude at all times
Qualifications
Minimum 35 years of experience in structured cabling or low-voltage installation
Previous experience leading crews or acting in a foreman/lead technician role preferred
Strong knowledge of commercial structured cabling standards and best practices
Experience with cable termination testing and certification
Ability to read blueprints and construction documents
Familiarity with BICSI standards is preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficient with hand tools power tools and testing equipment
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or lifts as needed
