Summary
Catholic Charities of Acadiana is seeking a reliable organized and team-oriented FoodNet Services Coordinator to support the daily operations of FoodNet Food Bank and help ensure food and essential supplies reach individuals and families throughout Acadiana. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work working with volunteers and contributing to a mission-driven organization that serves the community. As a FoodNet Services Coordinator you will assist with preparing food distributions coordinating and supporting volunteers maintaining organized inventory and storage areas and assisting with deliveries and community outreach activities. This role provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes by helping ensure FoodNet distributions are organized efficient and accessible to the individuals and communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with assembling and preparing FoodNet bags and supplies for distribution
- Ensure food bags supplies and related materials are accurately prepared organized and ready for distribution
- Support a positive and welcoming environment while providing an exceptional volunteer experience
- Assist volunteers with signing in and out orienting them to assigned duties and providing support throughout their shifts
- Assist with loading and unloading food donations supplies and distribution materials
- Maintain organized inventory and storage areas in accordance with organizational standards for cleanliness safety and organization
- Maintain a clean organized and professional work environment
- Assist with food distribution activities and community outreach events as needed
- Deliver non-perishable food bags supplies and distribution materials to various locations throughout Acadiana using company-owned vehicles when necessary
- Follow appropriate safety procedures when handling loading transporting and distributing food and supplies
- Communicate effectively with staff volunteers community partners and individuals receiving services
- Support the FoodNet team with additional operational needs as assigned
- Uphold Catholic Charities of Acadianas mission values and standards of professionalism in all interactions
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must demonstrate reliability through promptness and consistent attendance
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to successfully multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability and willingness to load and unload supplies and lift at least 30 lbs.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with staff volunteers and community members
- Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to assist with changing operational needs
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on FoodNet distribution and operational needs
- Employees operating company-owned vehicles must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid drivers license with an appropriate driving record
Job Specifications
- Heavy: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.
- Job Type: Part-time; Shift: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm Monday Tuesday and Thursday; 7:30 am - 3:00 pm Wednesday
