UW Medical Center-Northwest-Food and Nutrition Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Par-time Food Service Worker.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Evening shifts (4-hr shifts)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Nutrition and Food Services department supports UWMCs mission by delivering extraordinary experiences with compassionate evidence-based care unforgettable customer service and fresh and nutritious food for patients families and the greater community.

The Food Service Worker serves food and beverages; cashiers/records sales; cleans and sanitizes; washes dishes and cleans equipment; empties garbage and recycling containers; maintains cleanliness sanitation and appearance of work areas; and provides prompt friendly and efficient service to all guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists guests with electronic payments.
• Serves food and beverages to guests and patients. Brews coffee and ensures that other beverages are prepared and stocked. Maintains and documents temperatures of food items and equipment (such as refrigerators freezers and dish machine)
• Temperatures documents and files data to be stored for hot and cold foods as well as equipment such as but not limited to refrigerators freezers walk ins and dishwashers
• Uses F.I.F.O. (First In- First Out) so products are at their best. This includes dating labeling proper storage and daily handling of products
• Takes inventory and maintains stock at proper levels. Stocks with clean dishes; puts away clean wares
• Operates dish machine; collects soiled dishes and scrapes; washes and sanitizes pots pans and utensils
• Cleans and sanitizes food service equipment. Ensures that work areas public dining areas serving stations bus stations and all other assigned stations are neat clean and sanitary. As assigned removes dirty laundry bags; sweeps and mops floors; and provides sanitizer buckets to all workstations
• Empties and sanitizes garbage cans and recycling collection bins
• As assigned prepares delivers and retrieves patient trays and gourmet meals; acts a liaison between patients and the Food Service department.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Washington State Food Handlers Permit is required
