Commonpoint is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community center serving over 10000 persons of diverse backgrounds in Queens and the Bronx. Commonpoint provides a continuum of social recreational and educational services for children families and adults. For over two generations Commonpoint has been a special place for thousands of families children and individuals who participate in its parenting preschool after school cultural arts camping health and fitness social services and senior programming. Activity Specialists are experts in their discipline (ex: Art Dance Literacy Leadership Music STEM Chess Drama / Theater Nutrition Sports etc.). Activity Specialists must be committed to positive youth development who have a passion for what they do and who are able to create and implement curriculum in an elementary school or middle school OF THE JOB:Model and uphold all Agency policies and a fun nurturing and educational environment through hands-on learning and submit lesson plans on time according to the timeline set by the engaging age appropriate lesson for maintaining classroom space in an organized and clean identify and seek to resolve conflicts and behavioral problems in consultation with the organize and oversee varied activities with the support of Site Director youth workers and periodic reports on program activities and evaluate participation progress and development of program :A minimum of two years of academic preparation in your discipline or other equivalent communication skills both oral and written.
