About the Role

A leading automotive manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking an experienced Flowforming Specialist to support its manufacturing and machining operations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with flowforming equipment CNC machining tooling troubleshooting dimensional corrections and process improvement. This position is well suited for someone with strong mechanical and technical skills who can troubleshoot equipment and processes while maintaining high standards for safety quality and productivity.

  • Midnight Shift: 11:00 PM 7:00 AM 15% shift premium
What Youll Do
  • Support and promote Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in waste elimination and process improvement activities.
  • Support production and departmental goals related to safety quality delivery and productivity.
  • Follow all required safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout and electrical safe-work practices.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities on assigned equipment.
  • Complete corrective actions and equipment improvements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance downtime work order and production documentation.
  • Troubleshoot flowforming operations and identify the root cause of equipment and dimensional issues.
  • Troubleshoot and correct dimensional problems to maintain product specifications.
  • Modify and adjust CNC programs to maintain required part dimensions and quality standards.
  • Assist with tooling improvements and CNC machining process improvements.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints inspection reports and gaging information.
  • Understand machine functions process flow and part programming.
  • Assist with programming new parts and making necessary program adjustments.
  • Use systematic process-of-elimination troubleshooting techniques to resolve production issues.
  • Work closely with Tooling Maintenance Engineering Quality Production and other departments.
  • Communicate effectively with operators supervisors and other members of the manufacturing team.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
What Youll Need to Succeed
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with flowforming CNC machining tooling or related manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience modifying CNC programs and making tooling or process improvements.
  • Ability to interpret CMM results inspection reports gaging information and dimensional data.
  • Ability to make appropriate CNC program and mechanical adjustments based on inspection results.
  • Strong understanding of machine functions manufacturing processes and production flow.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming and the ability to learn new part programs.
  • Comfortable using computers printers calculators machine controls and manufacturing systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements

This position is hands-on and may require:

  • Extended periods of standing sitting walking bending stooping and repetitive motion.
  • Frequent use of hands and excellent manual dexterity.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts and necessary overtime.
