Position Overview:
Mechanics play an important role in ensuring proper performance safety and reliability of our Deicer trucks GRV (Glycol Recovery Vehicle) trucks Support vehicles and Ground service equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability;
Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures for such work as required;
Ability to read and use maintenance manuals illustrated parts catalogs schematics blueprints drawings and other related maintenance documents to complete work assignments;
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within an established timeframe;
Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment;
Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent;
Must be at least 18 years old;
Must be able to speak and hear efficiently;
Basic to intermediate computer skills;
* Candidates must have your own basic set of tools (sockets/wrenches) up to 1 in size and up to 1/2 drive.
Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once;
Knowledge of fluid types diesel powered machines and tools including their designs uses repair and maintenance;
Maintain and treat all information as confidential;
Must be able to read write understand and carry out instructions in English;
Must be able to verbally direct in English;
Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;
Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (i.e. photo tachometer diagnostics tools and hardware scanners and meters);
A valid drivers license is required for this position and must be able to pass the requirements to obtain an airport badge
* Ability to travel to our other IDS Airport stations to help our company when called upon. (TDY)
Work Environment:
Physically strenuous prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times) safe but potentially unpleasant odors varying temperatures and humidity in and around heavy moving equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms speak and hear efficiently;
Prolonged periods of sitting standing walking bending stooping pushing and pulling;
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
