Salary Range:$39520 - $59129 FLSA:Nonexempt

Purpose of Classification:

The purpose of this classification is to perform routine vehicle maintenance on County-owned vehicles and equipment.

Thisclassificationis safety sensitive subject to random drug testing in accordance withthe CountysDrug & AlcoholPolicy.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may berequiredand assigned.

Operates or uses various machinery equipment power tools hand tools and supplies in order to complete work assignments; and operates and maintains basic mechanics tool kit and/or vehicle-specific maintenance tool sets.

Performs oil changes on automobiles and light and heavy duty trucks; removes and replaces oil and oil filters; checks/replaces fluid levels; dispenses diesel exhaust fluid for light trucks; and properly disposes of used materials.

Performs chassis lubrication of heavy duty trucks; and lubricates upper and lower ball joints drive shaft rear axle and steering column.

Inspects fuel sites for leaks damages or any hazardous situations; and makes minor repairs as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; one year of work experience that shows an ability to maintain steady employment in any field; or any equivalent combination of education training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge skills and abilities for this job.

Specific License or Certification Required:Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia drivers license. Some positions may be required to obtain a commercial drivers license (CDL) appropriate for the level of equipment operated within six (6) months of starting employment in this classification.
