Job Summary
Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines their families and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel civilian employees contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.
Provides physical fitness training to authorized patrons to include: Active Duty Retirees Family Members and Department of Defense (DoD) Civilian employees. Organizes and conducts physical fitness assessments to include:screening and risk stratification measurement and evaluation of an individuals aerobic capacity body fat percentage muscular strength muscular endurance flexibility blood pressure and interpretation of assessment results. Provides individualized exercise plans.
Provides instruction and consultation on proper exercise techniques to individual and groups and implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive fitness program to improve aerobic fitness muscular fitness body composition and flexibility. Instructs patrons in proper use of exercise equipment while training and how to self-monitor progress either verbally or by composing written instructions for use of equipment safety and well-being. Coordinates with command representatives to develop and implement physical fitness programming for Active Duty military personnel.
Incumbent will work with populations deemed to be healthy with no health risk factors and who were not referred by a physician.
May register patrons collect exercise fees and maintain attendance and appropriate accounting records. Assists in cleaning and maintaining exercise equipment in proper condition.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards and any injury occupational illness and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

EVALUATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required. One year of experience within the health/fitness industry is and maintain a basic level certification from a nationally accredited certifying organization. Must be ableto demonstrate knowledge of and skill to administer fitness assessments progressive individual fitness plans and proper exercise techniques. Knowledge of established exercise principles concepts and techniques to plan and conduct fitness testing interpret results and develop fitness plans. Possess Obtain First Aid CPR and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or obtain within 6 months of hire.
