Job Summary
The selected candidate will spend the majority of the summer collecting environmental DNA (eDna) samples from streams and rivers in remote areas of the Reservation and assisting other Technicians with riparian fencing maintenance. The selected candidate may also assist with office-based tasks including data management and data entry. Additional job duties and/or learning opportunities (e.g. snorkeling backpack electrofishing stream habitat surveys beaver dam analog construction) may be available depending on specific needs and the leaning goals of the selected candidate.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent G.E.D
- Two years of fisheries or other Natural Resources-Related experience (progress towards a Bachelors degree in fisheries & wildlife conservation biology natural resources or related field will substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis).
- Must have a Current Drivers Licence be able to pass a Drug Test and a Background check upon hiring
- Must have some Knowledge of the underlying rationale and/or methodologies for waterborne eDNA sampling.
- Must be familiar with Pacific Northwest salmonids and their habitat requirements.
