Broadcoms Data Center Solutions Group (DCSG) is seeking a skilled Firmware Engineer to join our embedded storage systems development this role you will design implement and debug low-level firmware for storage controllers with a primary focus on RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) functionality on ARM based microprocessors. You will work across the full development lifecycle collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver product features aligned with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop new features and maintain firmware for storage products

  • Work on storage products supporting PCIe NVMe and/or SAS/SATA protocols

  • Support product solution validation and firmware release activities

  • Gather and analyze logs to root cause and resolve functional performance and data integrity issues

• Participate in storage product feature design and implementation reviews

• Collaborate with hardware and validation teams for system integration

  • Troubleshoot low-level firmware and hardware interaction issues using DSTREAM and logical analyzers

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in CS ECE or EE and 2 years of related experience or

• Masters degree in CS ECE or EE

• Strong programming skills in C (and assembly language is desirable).

• Working knowledge of embedded processors - ARM

• Experience using AI/LLM based tools within an embedded firmware workflow such as AI coding assistants for code generation review and debugging AI-assisted test-case generation and AI-assisted documentation.
