Fire Protection Engineer (1-3 yrs)

Coffman Engineers is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer with one to three years of working experience who is passionate about their craft wants to work on a high-functioning team and looking for an environment that promotes professional growth. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic have a desire to work and grow with a multi-discipline engineering team and be willing to have fun.  

You would be providing our clients with automatic suppression system design fire detection alarm and mass notification system design life-safety code analysis egress analysis fire resistant construction analysis smoke control analysis and special inspection as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.

Skills Knowledge and abilities:

• Design and specify basic systems without continuous oversight.
• Assist in managing CAD and production efforts.
• Perform consulting services for internal clients utilizing Fire Protection Engineering technical skills including but not limited to: automatic suppression system design; fire detection alarm and communication system design; code analysis; egress analysis; fire resistant construction analysis; smoke control analysis; as well as general fire protection and life safety concepts and research.
• Able to work independently as well as on teams.
• Possess intermediate level computer skills necessary for daily activities including email word processing spreadsheets graphics and a working knowledge of computeraided drafting and Revit (fire dynamic simulation for fire protection engineers).
• Positive contributor to overall office and department goals culture and morale.
• Able to multitask and prioritize in a fastpaced environment.
• Possess strong critical thinking organizational and analytical abilities.

Qualifications :

• BS degree in engineering or related science from accredited college or university
• EIT (required).
• Minimum one year working experience in Fire Protection Engineering (consulting)
• General building construction knowledge 
• Experience working with AutoCAD and Revit 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on a high-functioning team

Expected Annual Salary Range: $80000.00 - $90000.00.
