Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart healthy and sustainable buildings fire protection and life safety. Through Autocall Fire Detection you will help customers and channel partners protect people property and operations while driving growth across your assigned territory.
The Southern California (SoCal) market presents one of the most significant growth opportunities in the U.S. As the territory sales representative for a leading fire detection brand you will expand and strengthen our partner network by cultivating relationships with existing Autocall-certified distributors and recruiting new partners. You will play a key role in enabling partner success through training technical resources and sales support helping them confidently estimate install program and commission projects while driving market growth and customer satisfaction. Your success will be measured by partner growth market share expansion and consistent year-over-year performance across the Southern California region.
Represent Autocall Fire Detection across the assigned territory and serve as a trusted partner to channel customers.
Develop and deepen relationships with existing Autocall certified partners while recruiting new partners into the Autocall family.
Build and execute an annual sales plan aligned with company growth strategy and territory objectives.
Provide sales expertise tools equipment and resources that help channel partners exceed target sales volume goals.
Promote product knowledge to channel partners MEP firms and end user customers.
Collaborate closely with Field Sales Engineers and Business Development Managers to support account and territory growth.
Maintain a strong understanding of the marketplace competitor offerings fire and life safety codes and product trends.
Attend industry networking events and participate in professional organizations such as NFPA ASHE NBFAA AFAA AGC ABC NEMA and NECA.
Own the territory plan with accountability integrity and a clear focus on customer outcomes.
Stay close to the work by understanding partner needs removing obstacles quickly and providing practical support that helps them win.
Use continuous improvement candid communication and disciplined follow-through to strengthen performance every day.
Work as one team with sales engineering and business development colleagues bringing in diverse perspectives to solve problems and create opportunities.
Use market insight and consultative selling to expand the partner network and improve territory penetration.
Translate product knowledge into actionable guidance that helps partners sell with confidence and deliver successful projects.
Keep current on codes standards and product trends so your recommendations remain relevant and credible in the field.
What we look for
Bachelors degree in Business Management Engineering or Marketing or equivalent Sales/PM experience.
Three to five years of successful outside sales and presentation experience.
Experience working with consulting engineers within Fire Detection Industry
Reside within the territory
Travel 30% of time within Southern California
Preferred
Experience with JCI fire detection products
Channel Sales Experience
Demonstrated skill and experience with Microsoft Office and sales tracking software (Salesforce)
Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $95000 to 148000 (Salary to be determined by the educationexperience knowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignmentwith market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take intoaccount volume and margin on a project quarterly and annual basis. This position includes acompetitive benefits package.
