Job Description

Are you seeking a rewarding career that offers both professional growth and daily challenges The Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands is looking for a self-motivated and adaptable Financial Analyst I to join our team. If you thrive in dynamic environments possess the ability to master new systems and enjoy a variety of work responsibilities we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process manage accounts payable.
  • Maintain files and databases.
  • Responsible for month and year end processing and closing.
  • Provide backup coverage to payroll.

Qualifications

  • Ability to ensure compliance with contract terms policies and procedures etc.
  • Ability to use logic to analyze and identify underlying principles reasons or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Skill and ability to read interpret and apply laws rules regulations policies and/or procedures
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of principles theories and practices of accounting.
  • Knowledge of federal grant management and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports and documentation.
  • Ability to provide consultation and/or expert advice.
  • Skill and ability to plan organize and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Have the ability to collaborate and work closely with various business IT and management teams.
  • Detail oriented and meticulous in their work.
  • At least a Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Mathematics or another related subject or least 5 years of experience in a related field.

Supplemental Information

  • Risks found in the typical office setting which is adequately lighted heated and ventilated e.g. safe use of office equipment avoiding trips and falls observing fire regulations etc.
  • Typically the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
