Maintain accurate records of driving hours and rest periods as required by lawMaintain a high level of customer service by addressing inquiries complaints and resolving any delivery-related issues promptly and effectivelyQUALIFICATIONSExperienceandEducation:High School Diploma or of one year of CDL Class A tractor-trailer driving experienceCommunicationSkills:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure have good communication skills to interact with customers fellow drivers and dispatchersMust be able to communicate effectively and concisely with all levels of employees and build and maintain successful relationshipsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to effectively relate to all levels of employees and build and maintain successful relationshipsComputer Skills:Experience with ELD (Electronic Logging Device) software including logging in inputting data managing logs and generating reportsAbility to quickly learn and operate transportation software and systemsFamiliarity with mobile apps and basic computer skills is preferredExperience with Microsoft Outlook including Microsoft Office (MS Word MS Excel MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint)is preferredOther SkillsandAbilities:A Final Mile Driver often faces unpredictable situations such as traffic congestion adverse weather conditions and untimely equipment changes. A Final Mile Driver should possess the ability to operate any truck equipped with either manual or automatic transmissions. They need to be flexible and adaptable to handle these challenges while ensuring timely deliveriesWillingness to be on call and to cover other drivers in their absenceEffective problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing needsProficiency and experience with hazardous material transportation is preferredPeriodically lift up to 50 lbs. Read write speak and comprehend the English language including deciphering contract languageSee both distance and details at close range within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses)Identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device)Flexibility to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays as requiredOtherQualifications:Must meet all DOT requirements and qualificationsFinal Mile Driver must possess a valid CDL specifically a Class A license with a hazmat and tanker endorsementsFinal Mile Drivers must be at least 21 years old due to interstate driving regulations and insurance requirementsMinimum of one year of driving experience with similar equipment is requiredClean Driving Record not have more than two moving violations in the past three yearsDriving can be physically demanding.
