Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Companys Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This role will be responsible for field support in ZDC airspace. Field technician will support FAA contracts FTI ADSB DCNS and any other FSG programs.
Essential Functions:
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement such as RJ-11 RJ-45 DB-25 V.35 RS-449
- Havean excellent working knowledge of fiber working knowledge of MultiplexesNetwork topology Frame Relay Fractional T-1 SONET Network TechnologyATM Private Line Voice and Data applications
- Goodworking knowledge of power testing AC and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powersupplies.
- Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications DS3Testing Digital Testing (BERT) and Analog VG Testing within Bell CoreStandards.
- Workingknowledge and usage of various network test equipment: JDSU HSTAmeritech AM5XT Sage 935 Digital Oscilloscope Halcyon 704A Para-scopeor other T1/DS3 Test sets.
- IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks (wall mount raised floors concrete etc.)
- Travel to FAA site locations within a 3-hour drive from Washington DC Metro area
- Candidate must be able to obtain FAA Security Clearance from Public Trust background investigation
Qualifications:
- Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and a DOD Secret Clearance.
- Possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Network CCNA CCNP CCNA Wireless A
- Abilityto work from home in an on-call status.
- Musthave the ability to obtain and maintain active FAA Security Clearance
- Capableof lifting 70 pounds
- Must be willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3 hour drive circle of base location. Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region as needed.
- Posses and maintain a valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record as conditions of initial (and continued0 employment
- Capable of utilizing ladders and stepstools to reach heights of approx. 10 feet
- Willingnessand/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meetoperational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
- Excellentcustomer service skills.
- Ability to work in high stress and visibility environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in the Washington DC area is $62500 - $116500. The salary range for this role in Washington DC is $62500 - $116500.
