The Field Service Technician II is a role responsible for advanced maintenance troubleshooting and repair of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and infrastructure supporting the Memphis SmartWay system.

How Youll Make an Impact

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS systems
• Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within required timelines
• Diagnose and repair complex issues across multiple ITS devices
• Maintain and support systems including CCTV DMS HAR detection systems wireless communications fiber optic networks and network equipment
• Perform utility locating for fiber and power infrastructure
• Install upgrade modify and replace ITS equipment as required
• Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot system faults
• Maintain accurate daily logs labor tracking and service records
• Receive and manage inventory and assist with material requests
• Support subcontractors and ensure work meets quality and specification standards
• Assist and guide junior technicians in field operations

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Associates degree in Electronics Computer Scienceor 6 years of relevant field experience (ITS or similar preferred)
• Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical fiber optic and network systems
• Ability to read schematics and technical plans
• Experience with electronic testing equipment
• Knowledge of low voltage systems networking and wireless communications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and basic Office tools
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Outdoor and roadside work near active traffic and elevated equipment
• On-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
• Non-standard hours including nights and weekends as needed

Highly desired

• Experience with ITS/SmartWay systems
• Hands-on work with CCTV DMS HAR detection systems and network infrastructure
• RF or microwave communication experience
• Roadside or transportation system experience
• CDL preferred or ability to obtain one Must obtain once hired
