The Field Service Technician II is a role responsible for advanced maintenance troubleshooting and repair of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices and infrastructure supporting the Memphis SmartWay system.
How Youll Make an Impact
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ITS systems
- Respond to and resolve trouble tickets within required timelines
- Diagnose and repair complex issues across multiple ITS devices
- Maintain and support systems including CCTV DMS HAR detection systems wireless communications fiber optic networks and network equipment
- Perform utility locating for fiber and power infrastructure
- Install upgrade modify and replace ITS equipment as required
- Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot system faults
- Maintain accurate daily logs labor tracking and service records
- Receive and manage inventory and assist with material requests
- Support subcontractors and ensure work meets quality and specification standards
- Assist and guide junior technicians in field operations

What Makes You a Great Fit
- Associates degree in Electronics Computer Scienceor 6 years of relevant field experience (ITS or similar preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical fiber optic and network systems
- Ability to read schematics and technical plans
- Experience with electronic testing equipment
- Knowledge of low voltage systems networking and wireless communications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and basic Office tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Outdoor and roadside work near active traffic and elevated equipment
- On-call rotation (approximately one week per month)
- Non-standard hours including nights and weekends as needed
Highly desired
- Experience with ITS/SmartWay systems
- Hands-on work with CCTV DMS HAR detection systems and network infrastructure
- RF or microwave communication experience
- Roadside or transportation system experience
- CDL preferred or ability to obtain one Must obtain once hired
