Field Service Technician - Retail Technology Deployment (POS Camera and Cabling)

Company Summary

  • A national network infrastructure and technology services company is hiring Field Service Technicians for a retail technology rollout
  • The team deploys POS systems security cameras and network cabling across large retail store footprints
  • Technicians work in the field with support from a remote helpdesk and a project management team

Position Overview

  • We are hiring skilled self-motivated Field Service Technicians for a fast-paced two-week deployment in retail stores
  • You will work a route of assigned stores with scopes that change by location
  • Scopes include POS upgrades IP camera installs low voltage cable runs and end-device installs
  • You will work independently with support from the helpdesk and project management team
  • Orientation and training is on 10/16 and the deployment window is 10/19 to 10/31

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and upgrade point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Install and configure IP security cameras
  • Run pull terminate and test low voltage and network cable
  • Install and set up end devices
  • Troubleshoot network POS and low voltage issues on site
  • Work with the helpdesk to validate completed work and resolve issues
  • Take clear high-quality photos of completed work for required deliverables
  • Report which scopes are complete and which are outstanding
  • Get a release code from the helpdesk before leaving each site (required)
  • Work day or overnight shifts as assigned and follow all site procedures
  • Track your own time accurately and submit it to the project manager

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience pulling and terminating Cat5e and Cat6 cable
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for network POS and low voltage systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to report work status clearly
  • Own smartphone with a quality camera for photo deliverables and helpdesk communication
  • Own laptop
  • Ability to work day and overnight shifts and to switch between them depending on your route
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work independently manage your time and follow site procedures
  • Mandatory attendance at the 10/16 orientation
  • Preferred: retail technology deployment or rollout experience
  • Preferred: POS installation experience
  • Preferred: IP camera or surveillance system experience
  • Preferred: experience working with a remote helpdesk or NOC

Benefits and Compensation

  • Pay: $22 to $23 per hour
  • 50 hours per week guaranteed
  • Any additional hours you work are logged and paid
  • Company truck available to technicians with a clean MVR
  • You may use your personal vehicle if you prefer
  • Duration: Two-week deployment 10/19 to 10/31 with orientation on 10/16
