Job Summary
As a Field Service Technician you will be the key liaison between NOV and our customers guaranteeing the seamless operation of our equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing support throughout the equipments lifecycle from initial installation to regular maintenance. This role demands a strong technical foundation and adaptability to diverse work environments.
Responsibilities
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated tested calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Travel to customer sites to inspect install commission test calibrate repair and train customers on the safe and proper operation of NOV products.
Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate the system.
Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare for service jobs including downloading drawings software and all procedures required.
Install commission troubleshoot and repair NOV Cranes Control Systems Siemens base.
Install commission troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) Step 7.
Offshore cranes hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
Electrical systems.
Mechanical systems (including fittings gearboxes bearings etc.).
Obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated tested calibrated and how problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a high school diploma GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Microsoft Office knowledge is required.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics required.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical/electronic/control circuits required.
Ability to utilize various electrical diagnostic tools including multimeters oscilloscope and basic hand tools required.
Working knowledge of Step 7 Siemens software.
5 years of mechanical and hydraulics experience required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid drivers license with a good driving record.
Must have the ability to obtain and retain a US Passport
Must provide transportation from home to the office. Transportation to customers location will be provided.
24/7 on-call.
Onshore and offshore (domestic and international) travel for unknown durations with short notice.
Work in harsh environments including rain snow heat and heights in excess of 150 feet.
