ABOUT THE ROLE

We manufacture advanced CNC cutting systems and welding-positioning equipment used in industrial fabrication environments. The Field Service Technician II will install troubleshoot repair maintain and support this equipment at customer facilities.

When not traveling the technician will provide customers with technical support by phone and email from a home office. We will consider experienced Field Service Technicians as well as junior electromechanical candidates who have the aptitude to be trained. Previous travel experience is not required.

MUST HAVES

• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting assembly maintenance or service experience

• Hands-on experience with industrial machinery automated equipment or related capital equipment

• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings or schematics

• Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills

• Willingness to travel approximately 50% including overnight travel

• Ability to travel throughout the United States and Canada

• Residence near a major airport in Denver Chicago or Buffalo

• Valid drivers license

• Ability to pass a drug test criminal background check and driving-record check

• Ability to enter customer and government facilities

PREFERRED

• Field service experience with CNC cutting or welding-positioning equipment

• Experience with plasma oxy-fuel laser waterjet welding automation or machine tools

• PLC programming or troubleshooting experience

• Knowledge of servos VFDs motion controls pneumatics or industrial gas-delivery systems

• Equipment installation commissioning preventive maintenance or customer-training experience

• AAS in electromechanical technology or a related discipline

• Machinery-maintenance machine-building millwright or industrial-automation background

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install and test thermal cutting and welding-positioning equipment

• Diagnose electrical mechanical pneumatic gas-delivery controls and software issues

• Perform repairs preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades

• Read and interpret electrical mechanical and pneumatic drawings

• Train customers on equipment operation and proper use

• Provide troubleshooting and technical support by phone and email

• Recommend process improvements that reduce customer downtime

• Document service calls technical issues and field activity

• Communicate recurring equipment concerns to internal technical teams

• Identify and report potential service or equipment-sales opportunities

• Learn new Koike products controls drives and software platforms

• Travel on short notice and work occasional weekends when customer needs require it

SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL

• Approximately 50% overnight travel

• Approximately 50% remote customer support from a home office

• Travel throughout the United States and Canada

• Occasional Saturday or Sunday work may be required

• Short-notice customer travel may occasionally be necessary

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

• Base salary of approximately $60000-$80000 depending on experience

• Junior candidates may be considered at the lower end of the compensation structure
