Location: Houston TX (Hybrid)

Overview
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer with experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Solar and Power Electronics. This customer-facing role will support the installation commissioning troubleshooting maintenance and technical support of solar inverter and battery storage systems.
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot test commission and maintain BESS and solar inverter systems.
Diagnose battery inverter SCADA communication and utility grid-related issues.
Perform root cause analysis and prepare technical reports.
Work closely with customers field technicians and engineering teams.
Support field service activities site visits and repair operations.
Collaborate with R&D and provide feedback on product improvements.
Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company safety procedures.
Deliver technical training to customers and internal teams as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2 years of experience with a degree or 4 years of experience in:
- BESS / Energy Storage Systems
- Solar industry
- Power Electronics
- Field Service Engineering
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting commissioning and maintenance.
Experience with solar inverters battery systems and electrical test equipment (oscilloscope power quality analyzer multimeter etc.).
Knowledge of SCADA systems and Modbus communication protocols is preferred.
Strong problem-solving communication and customer-facing skills.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel up to 50%.

Preferred

Experience supporting utility-scale solar or energy storage projects.
Knowledge of electrical safety standards LOTO and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Mandarin language skills are a plus.
