JOB TITLE: Federal Work Study Academic Division

CLASSIFICATION: Part-time Non-exempt

COMPENSATION: $15.00 per hour

REPORTS TO: Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Academics

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be eligible for the Federal Work Study program as determined by Northern Pennsylvania Regional College Financial Aid Office
  • Current enrollment as a student in good standing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dependable organized professional and able to follow directions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks meet deadlines and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Basicproficiencywith Microsoft Office programs email shared files and general computer applications.
  • Comfort working with students employees community members and external partners in a professional manner.
  • Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and handle student or institutional information appropriately.
  • Interest in higher education student support career development outreach marketing or community engagement preferred.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and courteously with diverse audiences.
  • Attention to detail when entering data preparing materials and organizing information.
  • Willingness to learn new systems processes and communication tools.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Federal Work Study (FWS)- Academic Division position providesgeneral supportto the Academic Division andassistswith projects connected to career services student services dual enrollment recruitment and support business outreach social media and other academic initiativesas assigned. This position is ideal for a dependable student who is interested in gaining professional office experience developing communication and project support skills and contributing to student success and community engagement efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide general administrative and project support for the Academic Division including organizing materials preparing documents updating spreadsheets entering data andassistingwith routine office tasks.
  • Assistwith career services projectswhich mayinclude helping organize career resources employer information student-facing materials event materials and related communications.
  • Support student services initiatives by helping prepare resources track project tasks update informational materials andassistwith outreach connected to student success and engagement.
  • Help with dual enrollment recruitment and support activities including preparing materials for high school students and partnersassistingwith event preparation organizing contact listsand attending events when
  • Assistwith business and community outreach projects by researching employer contacts organizing outreach informationcompiling employer informationpreparing materials and supporting communication efforts under staff direction.
  • Assistwith social media and digital communication projectsas needed.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords files and project notes while following College procedures related to confidentiality professionalism andappropriate useof information.

  • Consistent access to a vehicle and/or reliable means to get to work on time every workday.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to obtain the clearances as applicable.

WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Office Location: NPRC Administrative Center

  • In-person preferred remote possible following in-person onboarding.
  • Work hours to be determined:
    • Schedule will vary based upon business needs supervisor schedule and student academic schedule.
    • May only work Monday through Friday;
    • Not permitted to work on an NPRC observed Holidays;
    • Hours will be limited to amount approved by student Financial Aid Award Letter;
    • Maximum of 8 hours daily of combined class time and work time;
    • May not work during scheduled class times;

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Infrequent travel may be required.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic division and college initiatives.
