Controller (Single-Family Office & Real Estate)

I am currently partnering with an ultra-private boutique single-family office and private investment firm in the El Segundo area to find a standout Controller to join their close-knit high-performing team.


In this role youll step away from rigid corporate silos and get direct hands-on exposure to a diverse high-value portfolio spanning private equity investments active real estate and private wealth management.


The Day-to-Day (Your Impact)

  • Master the Ledger: Maintain accurate clean books and records across multiple domestic entities managing the entire general ledger cash reconciliations and accounts payable processes.
  • Financial Storytelling: Own the month-end close process and compile monthly quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for leadership.
  • Real Estate Oversight: Partner with property managers to review operating expenses track tenant improvement (TI) contractor budgets and manage lease administration.
  • Tax Liaison: Prepare quarterly estimated tax schedules and coordinate directly with external CPAs to ensure seamless timely partnership and LLC filings.
  • Innovate Workflows: Work proactively to streamline financial procedures including integrating modern AI and automation tools to optimize efficiency.


What We Are Looking For

  • The Experience: You have 4 years of private accounting experience with deep hands-on expertise in GL management and month-end closing procedures (experience in public accounting is a huge plus!).
  • The Education: You hold a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • The Credentials: A CPA license
  • The Specialized Fit: Prior experience in real estate accounting private equity or a family office setting will put you at the top of our list.
  • The Tech Stack: You have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and solid experience with QuickBooks or similar mid-market accounting platforms.
  • The Character: You are a self-starter who possesses impeccable integrity and a high degree of discretion when handling confidential high-net-worth financial affairs.

  • Work Style: A sustainable 4-day onsite / 1-day remote hybrid schedule offering the perfect balance of collaboration and flexibility.
