Overview
Responsibilities

Primary

  • Assistwith the daily tasks of the International Affairs team in New York and Washington DC including the monitoring of global news and social media and preparation of digests and policy memos andfact-checking.
  • Undertake database maintenance to support ongoing projects
  • Undertake assigned research and writing tasks to support ongoing projects.
  • Assistwith event management andupdating ofcontact lists.
  • Provide assistance to other members of the International Affairs team.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent
  • Passion for non-profit work
  • Desire to start building career within non-profit sector

Skills/Attributes

  • Commitment to ADLs global mission
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated research skills
  • Good command of office software and social media
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • A working knowledge of a language other than English a plus
  • Experience with remote and/or international work preferred
  • Familiarity with issues related to antisemitism and global affairs preferred
  • Students majoring or minoring in Political Science International Relations History Jewish Studies Area Studies or relating subjects preferred.
  • Collaborative team-player
  • Creative and innovative; takes initiative and is results-oriented a problem solver (versus a problem identifier)
  • Excels in dynamic environments that require adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Compensation and Hours

  • The internship is up to 15 hours per week.
  • This internship is paid local minimum wage or 15/hr (whichever is higher).
  • This internship will be hybrid with on-site presencein New YorkCityOR Washington D.C. depending on the location of the selected candidate.

  • You will learn about real-life decision-making challenges and help us develop real-time solutions.
  • You will have the opportunity to present your work at internal forums within ADL.
  • You will have practical hands-on experience with research writing and database management related to international relations and global affairs
  • Collaborate with meet and learn from ADL subject matter experts at all levels and become familiar with the varied work we do to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all.
