Job Summary

Overview

The faculty member in the College of Pharmacy (COP) has responsibilities in the areas of teaching scholarship service and clinical practice. The faculty is expected to provide high quality instruction and training for PharmD students across the didactic skills-based and experiential curriculum. Scholarship and/or professional contributions related to the faculty members area of expertise are expected. Service to the department College University and profession is also expected.

The successful candidate is expected to maintain a clinical practice site consistent with their area of expertise and participate in experiential education and student precepting. Candidates with expertise in ambulatory care inpatient general medicine health-system pharmacy or acute care pharmacy practice are especially encouraged to apply.

The work requires flexibility adaptability creativity and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. Faculty members are expected to support the mission and vision of the College and contribute to the professional development and success of pharmacy students.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum development delivery assessment and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Teach and assess pharmacy students in the didactic skills-based laboratory and experiential curriculum.
  • Participate in student mentoring advising and professional development activities including contributions to co-curricular programming.
  • Participate in student assessment activities including competency-based skills-based and readiness assessments.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship and professional contributions related to ones area of expertise.
  • Maintain a clinical practice site and precept pharmacy students in experiential education settings as appropriate.
  • Precept students for health promotion activities (health fairs student run free clinic etc.)
  • Serve on committees and actively contribute to the development of the department College University and profession.
  • Attend and participate in faculty department College and University meetings as appropriate and undertake other faculty duties as assigned.
  • Work collegially with faculty staff preceptors and administrators in the recruitment retention and development of pharmacy students.
  • Engage in ongoing faculty development activities.
  • Provide reports and other documents as requested by administrators.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
  • Completion of a PGY1 residency fellowship or equivalent advanced clinical training requried
  • California pharmacist licensure or eligibility to obtain California pharmacist licensure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PGY2 residency training or equivalent advanced clinical experience
  • Experience teaching at the professional student level
  • Candidates with expertise in ambulatory care inpatient general medicine or acute care pharmacy practice are especially encouraged to apply

USD $65.53/Hr.
