Job Summary
The Facility Grounds Worker is responsible for the care and upkeep of Wicomico County facilities within the Department of Recreation Parks Tourism and Civic Center. The upkeep will include basic landscape duties grass cutting tree maintenance trash removal janitorial duties building maintenance room set-ups and breakdowns and other similar work. Position will assist in facility-related projects and events from time-to-time as needed throughout the County. The position is a 40 hour-per-week position and may require night and weekend work (times vary week to week based on contracted events).
High school diploma or GED; 1 year experience in facility maintenance custodial work or building/grounds maintenance is desired. Possess a valid drivers license. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and light-duty equipment. Pesticide applicators general & turf permit is desired. Forklift experience desired. Ability to comprehend and complete safety training. Ability to obtain NIMS emergency training within three months. Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within six months. Ability to pass drug testing and background check.
