TDMC manages all aspects of venue management including but not limited to event booking event management marketing IT technical services food & beverage parking security housekeeping changeover maintenance and more. TDMC manages several venues in Fort Worth TX.

Job Summary:

Trail Drive Management Corp (TDMC) is looking for a full-time Painter to support our Will Rogers Memorial Center operation. The full-time Painter would perform general building interior & exterior painting surface repairs and modifications. The painting work must be performed in a professional manner with constant attention to details and a high level of quality in a timely manner. This position would be working in a multi-purpose facility providing a safe well-maintained building environment for clients guests and arena staff.

This position will be 100% on-site.

Essential Job Functions:

• The primary duty of the full-time Painter is to maintain repair replace re-paint sheetrock walls and ceilings wood trim wainscoting cabinets doors and door frames in the Arena and adjacent parking facilities as needed to keep the Facilities in a like new condition.
• Have the ability and skill to repair damaged painted & stained wood trim wainscoting cove molding chair rails etc. by replacing repairing and/or refinishing wood surfaces as needed to make it like new again using wood refinishing technics with hand and power tools.
• Have the ability and skill to repair sheetrock walls & ceilings by replacing damaged sheetrock then taping bedding floating the wall & ceiling surfaces to the original texture and repainting as needed.
• Have the ability and skill to perform various painting tasks including applying primer and finish coats on interior and exterior surfaces such as walls ceilings and woodwork to make it like new again using brushes paint rollers or spray guns.
• The ability to fill cracks holes and open joints in various wall surfaces and wood trim with caulk putty wall mud or other fillers using caulking guns or putty knives.
• Ability to design/build various wood items with various woodworking shop tools/equipment such as table miter jig and circular saws routers sanders and other woodworking equipment.
• Will be required to cover surfaces with drop clothes masking tape plastic and/or plastic to protect surrounding surfaces during all painting staining and refinishing processes.
• Ability to perform repairs and refinish work from scaffolding ladders boom lifts and scissor lifts at various heights using the appropriate fall protection gear as required. These areas could include but are not limited to the exterior of the Arena interior ceilings up to 65 high and catwalks suspended 165 from the arena floor.
• Ability to read and comprehend building plans sketches and shop drawings for woodwork design and fabrication.
• Ability to keep the required paint refinishing materials and tools in stock to perform regular work repair requests.
• Ability to abide by and follow OSHA NFPA and other safety codes as well as comply and adhere to hazardous materials standards and codes with the goal of ensuring a consistently safe working environment while working on property.
• Ability to assist the Operations department with setup and reconfiguration of the Arena Bowl seating systems prior to and after the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo as required.
• This position must be able to work a flexible work week schedule with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This schedule could include evenings weekends and holidays as required by the Arena events and scheduled by the Director of Engineering and the Assistant Chief Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Minimum high school graduate or GED required.
• A trade school attendee or graduate with specialized training in a building related field such as Building Trades construction or other trade preferred.

• 3 years experience as a carpenter / painter in any of the commercial building trades or have work experience that would exhibit commercial building maintenance/repairing abilities.
• Willingness to learn all applicable laws codes ordinances safety precautions and emergency procedures related to facility management.
• Must have a state of Texas motor vehicle license.
• Willingness to learn and operate a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and ensure deadlines are achieved.
• Willingness to work outside as required being exposed to adverse weather conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
• Ability to stand for extended/ long periods of time.
• Ability to work nights weekends and holidays as business is called for.

Working Conditions:

• Employees will work in both indoor shop and outdoor environments with fluctuating temperatures and varying weather conditions.
• Employees must have the ability to lift push and pull up to 50 pounds. As business or emergency situations require employees may occasionally assist in moving items weighing 100 pounds or more with appropriate equipment or assistance.
• Employees may occasionally work around animals typically found in a fair livestock 4-H or FFA environment (horses cattle pigs sheep dogs etc.).
• Employees may spend portions of the day using computers tablets and other office equipment to complete work orders and documentation.
• Employees will regularly stand walk bend kneel crawl climb and work underneath vehicles and equipment throughout the workday.
• Employees may be exposed to moving vehicles heavy equipment hydraulic systems rotating machinery elevated work areas and compressed air systems.
• Employees will be exposed to petroleum products lubricants cleaning chemicals battery acid and other hazardous materials while following established safety procedures.
• Employees will regularly use power tools hand tools diagnostic equipment and shop equipment.
• Employees will be exposed to high noise levels vibration fumes and dust typical of a fleet maintenance environment.
• Employees may spend a portion of the day using computers and electronic diagnostic equipment to document repairs and access technical information.
