The Facility Supervisor oversees daily operations of the parks resale gift shop including product selection inventory tracking and merchandise replenishment. This role manages ITINIO and camping reservation systems to ensure accurate bookings and excellent visitor service. Additionally the supervisor directs a team of seasonal staff and a full-time Park Specialist to maintain smooth retail and reservation operations.

The Arkansas Department of Parks Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansass natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies. Arkansas Tourism improves the states economy by generating travel and enhancing the image of the state.

Job Summary
The Facility Supervisor/Expert is responsible for overseeing the operation maintenance and security of state-owned facilities to ensure they remain safe functional and compliant with state and federal regulations. This position plays a key leadership role in managing maintenance teams budgeting contract oversight and emergency preparedness.
Primary Responsibilities
The assignment of supervisory duties is determined by the hiring agencys operational needs. Non-supervisory roles will serve as senior technical daily facility operations ensuring proper maintenance and efficient functioning of HVAC electrical plumbing and structural and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and reduce compliance with state and federal safety codes environmental regulations and ADA accessibility repair projects and facility upgrades including work orders contractor oversight and budget to emergency maintenance situations coordinating repairs and disaster response staff by interviewing recommending staff for hire/fire assigning and reviewing work counseling and evaluating the performance of facility maintenance staff custodial teams and external service tasks monitor performance and provide training on safety procedures equipment operation and regulatory a positive and productive work environment while ensuring staff accountability and adherence to regular performance evaluations and provide professional development OSHA fire safety and building codes compliance through routine inspections and and enforce emergency preparedness and disaster response plans for the and resolve facility safety hazards implementing corrective measures as with state regulatory agencies and internal departments on safety initiatives and facility and manage the facility maintenance budget tracking expenses and prioritizing cost-effective procurement and inventory of supplies equipment and contracted and implement energy-efficient practices and sustainability measures to reduce operational renovation expansion and infrastructure improvement with architects engineers and contractors to design and implement facility and recommend technology enhancements for improved facility management.
Knowledge and Skills
In-depth knowledge of building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical security and structural of state procurement contract negotiation and vendor in facility management software maintenance tracking systems and blueprint understanding of regulatory compliance workplace safety and environmental and decision-making skills to effectively manage staff and facility communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with teams vendors and government to effectively manage inventory control purchasing and procurement procedures and customer to greet customers and provide information concerning the services and functions of the facility as well as the ability to train others to do the to plan organize and oversee the work of subordinates and coordinate work activities.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum of two years of facility management experience.

Satisfaction of the minimum qualifications including years of experience and service does not entitle employees to automatic progression within the job series. Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the Office of Personnel Management taking into consideration the employees demonstrated skills competencies performance workload responsibilities and organizational needs.
